Natasha Lukman20sFemale
I heard soy products are bad for hormones, is that true? But what should I eat if I am a vegan then?

There is some debate over the effects of soy products on hormones, but most research suggests that moderate soy consumption is safe and may have some health benefits. Soy products contain phytoestrogens, which are plant compounds that have a similar structure to human estrogen. Some studies have suggested that consuming high amounts of soy products could affect hormone levels, particularly in individuals with certain medical conditions. However, most studies have found that moderate soy consumption, such as one to two servings per day, does not significantly impact hormone levels in healthy individuals.

As a vegan, it is possible to obtain adequate nutrition without consuming soy products if you choose to avoid them. There are many plant-based sources of protein, such as legumes (e.g., lentils, chickpeas, black beans), nuts and seeds (e.g., almonds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds), and whole grains (e.g., quinoa, brown rice, whole wheat bread). Other sources of calcium, iron, and other nutrients commonly found in animal products can also be obtained from plant-based foods, such as leafy greens, fortified plant milk, and tofu made from non-soy sources like chickpeas or lentils. A well-planned vegan diet can provide all the necessary nutrients for good health.
