What is AMH

I often heard the word AMH but I don't really understand so what is AMH's role in assessing female fertility, and how is it measured? Can you clarify?

Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is a protein hormone that is produced by the cells surrounding a woman's ovarian follicles. It plays an important role in regulating the development and maturation of these follicles. In recent years, AMH has emerged as a useful tool for assessing female fertility, as its levels have been shown to be correlated with the number of remaining follicles in a woman's ovaries.
AMH levels can be measured through a simple blood test, which can be performed at any point during a woman's menstrual cycle. This test is becoming increasingly popular in fertility clinics and is often used to assess a woman's ovarian reserve, or the number of eggs she has remaining. By measuring AMH levels, doctors can better understand a woman's fertility potential and help her make informed decisions about her reproductive future.
